Canyoning Bosnia is led by certified local guides based at Camp Nomad in Sutjeska National Park. We've been moving through Hrčavka since long before it had a name on any tourist map.
Our tours are small by design: up to 20 guests, with experienced guides and one river. We use European canyoning standards, carry rescue kits you'll hopefully never see, and know every anchor bolt on the route because we placed most of them ourselves.
Hrčavka canyoning offers a unique adventure in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Located within Sutjeska National Park, the country's oldest national park, the Hrčavka River is a significant tributary of the Sutjeska River. This narrow and dynamic canyon is known for its well-preserved natural environment, combining striking landscapes with an authentic high-adrenaline experience.
A 17-kilometre tributary of the Sutjeska River, the Hrčavka carves its way through a narrow limestone gorge deep within Sutjeska National Park. In its tightest sections, the canyon walls rise so close that sunlight touches the water only briefly each day. The river drops sharply along its course, forming a sequence of waterfalls, natural slides, and emerald pools, cold enough to stay with you long after summer.
Bosnia and Herzegovina's oldest national park, established in 1962. Home to Perućica, one of the last remaining primeval forests in Europe, and Maglić, the country's highest peak at 2,386 m. A protected wilderness of beech, bear, and deep silence.
