3–4 hours in-canyon
You move through the heart of Hrčavka following the river's natural rhythm, deep pools, smooth rock slides, and crystal-clear water carved by time.
For a long time, Hrčavka Canyon remained hidden in plain sight. High above the valley, the medieval Tođevac Fortress watched over the landscape, while deep below, the river carved its way through a gorge few could truly enter. For generations, this was not a place you passed through, but a place you could only imagine.

Only in recent years did explorers begin to move with the river instead of around it. As routes were carefully traced and the canyon gradually revealed, a new kind of experience emerged. By 2014, the first guided descents opened the way for others to follow.
What they found was more than a route. Scientific expeditions confirmed what the landscape already suggested, this was a rare, living system of exceptional biodiversity, one that helped inspire successful efforts to keep the river free from hydropower development.
Today, Hrčavka still flows as it always has. Untamed, cold, and precise.
With our certified guides, you don't just visit the canyon, you move through it. Sliding, swimming, and descending along the natural line of the river, step by step, into a place that until recently remained out of reach.
Over the course of 3 to 4 hours, you move through the heart of Hrčavka Canyon, following the natural rhythm of the river. The journey takes you through deep natural pools, over smooth rock slides, and into crystal-clear water carved by time.
In several sections, professional ropes and climbing equipment are used to descend vertical drops of up to 10 metres, always under the supervision of certified guides. It is a progressive canyoning experience that blends swimming, movement, and controlled descent, designed for those who want to experience the canyon from the inside, not just observe it.
